The organization of Jama'at-e-Islami is founded on the Islamic principles of consultation. These principles are permanent, yet the institutions and organizational structures formed under these principles undergo changes according to varying circumstances. Consequently, with the expansion in Jama'at's organization, additions, amendments and changes have also been made in Jama'at's Constitution. So, a brief account of the evolutionary stages of Jama'at's constitution has been given in Appendix 5. The Council's interpretations and explanations of a few articles of the constitution are given in Appendix 4 for better comprehension. The present edition of Jama'at's Constitution includes the amendments until 29th December 2019. Note: This is a fair rendering in English of the text and spirit of the Constitution, yet for all legal and practical purposes the original Urdu version shall be referred to.
